Bengаlѕ Fаnѕ Get Horrіble Trey Hendrіckѕon Rumor Updаte

Does this expensive Bengals offseason (Chase got a four-year, $161 million deal while Higgins got four years and $115 million) allow for another big contract for Trey Hendrickson?

The Cincinnati Bengals are in feel-good mode after having extended receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to start the week.

The Bengals successfully locked up two stars long-term, keeping QB Joe Burrow and Cincy fans happy ... with one more contractual shoe to drop.

Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson still needs his new deal. But there is as much junk on the rumor mill as there is positive movement, it seems.

There is the idea of a potential trade lingers.

There is also Bengals cornerback Josh Newton, sharing excitement for Hendrickson’s extension chances by tweeting, “91 Loading.''

But now a new wrinkle for No. 91, who is of course Hendrickson, who in back-to-back seasons has logged 17.5 sacks, and who in four years has registered 57 sacks en route to four consecutive Pro Bowl seasons and a first-team All-Pro selection.

NFL Rumors: Trey Hendrickson Could Sit Out 2025 Season amid Bengals Contract Talks : r/bengals

That wrinkle is ...

Hendrickson might not return at all because he's planning to "sit out the entire season''?!

That's what ESPN's Jeremy Fowler is claiming, saying "it's entirely possible" that Hendrickson will sit out the entire 2025 season if he doesn't get a new contract.

"I think it's entirely possible, based on what I'm hearing, for him to sit out the year if he doesn't get a new deal," Fowler said. "I think that's his mindset right now."

Yeah ... we'll that that bet.

Hendrickson, 30, is presernly set to play the 2025 season on a one-year, $21 million contract. He likely wants in excess of $30 million per year ... and given the market, that seems fair.

Does this expensive offseason (Chase got a four-year, $161 million deal while Higgins got four years and $115 million) allow for another big contract?

There are always ways, yes, even though as Burrow makes $55 million a year, the roster might look a bit top-heavy financially.

But "sitting out the entire season''? That sounds to us like ESPN got a text from an agent. It's not an especially practical threat ... and in the end, both Cincinnati and Hendrickson know they need each other to succeed.

So ... our prediction is that it gets done - horrible rumors aside.
