Bengаlѕ legend cаllѕ for Tee Hіggіnѕ to ‘get wһаt һe deѕerveѕ’, іt’ѕ cleаr wһo һe іѕ ѕіdіng wіtһ

Tee Higgins has been a big question for the Cincinnati Bengals and a key offseason free agency storyline to keep tabs on.

Tee Higgins has been the center of talk in the Midwest for some time. Last offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver was one of the names on contract watch. When a new contract didn’t land at his feet in 2024, trade speculation broke out to the point where Higgins decided to address the rumors.

Fast forward to February 2025, and all signs point to Tee Higgins getting signed against his will via the franchise tag.

One may argue that his 148-yard performance against the Los Angeles Chargers and his three-touchdown, 131-yard showing against the Denver Broncos forced the Bengals to decide against cutting him loose. Regardless of the reason, Higgins appears to be here to stay, but one Bengals legend didn’t like it.

Chad Ochocinco on Tee Higgins

Speaking on a February 19 edition of “First Take,” former Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco had to choose between the player and his former team. He went with the player.

He said: “We can’t be selfish in this instant when it comes to business. … Yes, we would love to keep the band together. … Tee Higgins deserves money as well. He’s not going to be able to get what he’s worth if he stays in Cincinnati, he has to be the [only] one to take a pay cut. Why does he have to be one to take less? You give teams the home team discount on the second, maybe the third.”

“You have to get as much as you can on your first one and for Tee to get what he deserves, it can’t be in Cincinnati. And this is coming from someone who loves my Bengals down to the core,” he said.

Ouch. While Higgins might appreciate the nod, the Bengals might not take too kindly to one of their legacy players leaving them out to dry.
