Bengаlѕ Meet wіtһ 1,100-Yаrd Runnіng Bаck Proѕpect

The Cincinnati Bengals are meeting with Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten.

With massive contract extensions for Tee Higgins and Ja'marr Chase this offseason, and with their previous financial commitment to Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals are going all in. Their offense looks to continue to be one of the most dangerous in the NFL, and the team is reported to be targeting a running back in the draft.

NFL insider Tony Pauline reports that the Bengals met with Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten at the School's pro day.

"Tuten looked terrific in position drills and caught the ball exceptionally well. In a very deep running back class, Tuten carries a third-round grade on my board, and he's likely to end up in that frame. On Wednesday, he met with the Cincinnati Bengals, who ran the position drills." Wrote Pauline.

Tuten dealt with an ankle injury during the Hokies' Week 8 win to Georgia Tech that continued to hamper him as the season went on, including in the Senior Bowl. He still put together some impressive performances down the stretch, including an 18-carry, 124-yard, two-touchdown game against Virginia in the season finale.

Tuten finished his senior season with 1,159 yards in 11 games, averaging 6.3 yards per carry. Tuten was incredibly effective at the goal line, running in 15 touchdowns and scoring another two in the receiving game. Tuten scored touchdowns in all but two games last season: the one he got hurt in and the following game, where he only had four carries.

Tuten's ankle injury still bothered him at the combine, most notably in the short shuttle, which he completed in 4.41 seconds in Indianapolis. However, he had a much-improved mark on his pro day with a healthy ankle, completing the drill in just 4.15 seconds. His 40-time at the NFL Combine was 4.32.

The Bengals could certainly use another running back on their roster, and with a Day 3 draft pick, Tuten could be exceptional value. Tuten has the tools to develop into a great third-down back, and could fill out the Bengals' running back room featuring Chase Brown and Samaje Perine nicely.
