The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens are fierce rivals on the field, but that doesn't mean a current star and franchise legend from both sides can't come together in peace.
That's what Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and former Ravens linebacker and Hall of Famer Ray Lewis did over the weekend at the CSA card show. Chase shared the pic of the two on his Instagram story Tuesday morning, as it was originally posted on Lewis' account.
If nothing else, Lewis is simply one of the greatest football players to have ever played professionally. It's why he was an unquestioned first-ballot inductee in the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2018. The former middle linebacker made 12 Pro Bowls, was a seven-time All-Pro, and was a key member of Baltimore's two Super Bowl victories.
Lewis was also a total menace for the Bengals to get past every year. Some of his best highlights came against Cincinnati, including the time Chad Johnson tried to block him in the open field and failed miserably.
Lewis was an absolute beast against Cincinnati and the rest of the league, and Chase is on his way to achieving a similar career path as the Hall of Famer. Even if Chase plays against Lewis' former team at least twice a season in heated battles, which will be featured on this year's in-season Hard Knocks, it's pretty cool to see him link up with one of the all-time greats.
Lewis also wasn't wearing any Ravens gear, which probably made Chase relieved. A Detroit Lions fan attempted to snag a photo with Chase at the event while wearing an Amon-Ra St. Brown jersey, and Chase asked him to take it off before the photo was taken.
Maybe if the fan was a Hall of Famer like Lewis, there wouldn't have been an issue.
