Bengals QB Joe Burrow will deliver an update on his Batmobile purchase during Netflix's 'Quarterback' Season 2

It was an accident when Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to reveal he purchased a Batmobile, and now the entire shebang is going to the wayside.

Burrow bought the vehicle sold by Warner Bros., the film and entertainment company that owns the movie and character rights to Batman, sometime last year. He revealed his purchase while mic'd up during "Hard Knocks: In-Season with the AFC North." 

Later this week, Burrow will make it known that the purchase is canceled.

Burrow will star in the second season of Netflix's original series "Quarterback," which premieres Tuesday. A featured storyline for Burrow will be his Cincinnati home being burglarized, impacting his private life and how much of it is exposed to the public.

According to Cincinnati Bengals on SI's Jay Morrison, who received early access to the season, Burrow revealed in an interview with a producer of the show that house being burglarized sparked him to cancel his order of the Batmobile.

Burrow bought the Batmobile prior to the incident at his residence, when valuables such as luggage and jewelry were stolen while Cincinnati's QB was out of town winning a "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Seven members of a "South American Theft Group" have since been charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. 

It seems like the story drew plenty of unwanted attention toward Burrow's way, and thus a Batmobile would only do the same. 

Burrow decided on doing "Quarterback" long before both stories were ever reality. He did so because he trusted NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, who's an executive producer on the show.

"He's going to protect me, protect our team, protect the organization," Burrow said. "I have trust in him for saying that, and I trust that he's going to do that. I probably wouldn't have done it if he wasn't involved, but I have a lot of trust and faith in him to not do anything that would hurt me or the team."

We're lucky to get this access to Burrow now, because after what he went through last year, he may not be so eager to open his life up to the world going forward.
