Desmond Ridder signing with Bengals
The NFL is taking every measure possible to make the league as safe as possible. However, injuries will always be an inevitable reality of such a brutal and physical sport, and star players aren’t exempt from suffering this.
Knowing this, the Cincinnati Bengals have added a new quarterback this offseason, despite already having one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Joe Burrow, according to one prominent league insider.
“Former #Falcons starting QB Desmond Ridder is signing with the #Bengals, per source. Some experienced competition behind Joe Burrow,” reported Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Fans reacted to the signing on social media.
“When Joe Burrow decided to transfer from Ohio State, his final two choices were UC and LSU. When he elected to go to Baton Rouge, Desmond Ridder was able to start as a redshirt freshman for the Bearcats. It certainly worked out well for both of them, and now they’re teammates,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Desmond Ridder was recruited to the Cincinnati Bearcats by Zac Taylor when he was their offensive coordinator. Obviously rewrote the record book at UC as Zac went on to the NFL. Look forward to seeing him in preseason,” someone else added.
“I could easily see the Titans going after Jake Browning if he becomes available (cut or pick swap trade),” one fan added. It’ll be interesting to see if the Bengals go with Jake Browning or Ridder as the long-term option behind Burrow.
