Traci is putting her detective cap back on. She wants to know what’s wrong with her fiancé Alan. He’s obviously keeping a secret from her. Something pinged not only on his phone but also in Traci’s mind. The Young and the Restless star Beth Maitland revealed what Traci could be thinking.

Trouble In Paradise?

Traci (Maitland) is having cold feet. But it’s not because she’s not ready to commit. It’s because she can’t get a read on Alan (Christopher Cousins). Understandably, Traci has been through a lot of heartbreak. Unfortunately, she’s not going to get the happy ending she deserves. In an interview with TV Insider, Maitland gave fans a glimpse into Traci’s mind.

“It’s been a couple of decades, maybe 15 years since Traci had been in a relationship of a romantic nature that was not too troubled,” Maitland said about Traci’s history of heartbreak. “She has been so surprised by this gift that has fallen from the sky into her lap that she never in a million years expected.”

Alan seems too good to be true. That’s because he could be his evil twin, Martin (Cousins). Maitland teased that the pieces are going to fall into place. In the following episodes, all of Traci’s burning questions will be answered. Traci isn’t sure if the man she’s engaged to is really the man he claims to be.

Paging Nancy Drew

Traci has a vivid imagination. She has written her share of mystery novels. Maitland noted that Traci will channel her inner Angela Lansbury, a la Murder, She Wrote. “Things click into place, and something just isn’t right. Nerve endings are starting to lay smooth, and I think Traci is starting to see some warning signs,” the veteran soap star noted.

Traci has already seen the red flags. All it took was a conversation with Sharon (Sharon Case). From the moment that Sharon mentioned her kidnapping, Traci’s mind flashed back to the “text messages she saw on Alan’s phone,” Maitland added. “Sharon starts to reveal information about her abduction that starts lining up with messages on Alan’s phone,” she said.

We’re excited to see what happens next. In Thursday’s episode, Traci enlists the help of her brother Jack (Peter Bergman). This storyline will lead to thrilling developments, no doubt. But she’s aware that some Y&R fans are outraged that Traci won’t get her happily ever after. Maitland assured fans that this is an exciting time for her character.

“But if Traci were happy, she would be more boring than just being everyone’s shoulder to lean on, so I feel like there has to be something to tear it up a little bit,” Maitland teased. “Nothing good lasts for long, and here’s something to do, and I long for something to do! Trust me, in the next couple of weeks, you’ll see you make the most of it.”
