Over the years, fans have had constant updates on Bethenny. The former Real Housewives of New York star has always been active on social media. She’s shared everything ranging from being locked in the bathroom to her thoughts on the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni case. Now, she’s sharing her insights on dating men in their 50s.
Bethenny Frankel says middle-aged men want “pen pals” rather than dating
“I’m going to tell you something most of you don’t know about men,” Bethenny shared. “When they’re in their 50s, they’ve been married, and they’re dating, it’s the worst era. And sadly, I’ve truly been through every era of men. And this is the age they want pen pals.”
According to her, men at this age are preoccupied with their careers and their sports cars and money and ex-wives and children. “They’re busy,” the former reality TV star said. “They want to date. They want to get laid.”
She explained that what they don’t want is to “connect and communicate” because “they somehow lost that skill” thanks to the pressures of their careers and parenthood.
“They haven’t had much to do, because women handled a lot of the stuff at home. So they haven’t had to deal with the emotional connection,” she added.
Bethenny said she had so many examples of men reaching out as if they were madly in love. However, when she responded normally they “dissolved until they next time they just want to surface.”
“They are looking for adult pen pals that perhaps they could sleep with,” she reiterated. “I literally sent someone a text saying ‘this breadcrumb communication style doesn’t work for me. If there’s something you would like to ask for or need, please reach out.’ Otherwise, peace the f*ck out.”
Bethenny was most recently linked to Tom Villante. She was previously married to Jason Hoppy with whom she shares her daughter Bryn.
The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
