The Buffalo Bills are heading back to the drawing board after a disappointing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Kansas City defeated Buffalo 31-28 in the conference title matchup, earning their fourth straight win against a Josh Allen-led Bills team in the postseason.
While the Chiefs are headed to Super Bowl LIX, their fifth trip to the title game in the last six years, the Bills are making the necessary moves to improve.
On Wednesday, Buffalo announced the re-signing of quarterback Shane Buechele.
Buechele signed a one-year deal with the Bills to stay planted in the AFC East.
Buechele has been in the league since 2021. He's been rostered on the Bills since 2023, but has yet to earn game reps.
Before his time in Buffalo, Buechele was in the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback room from 2021 to 2022, earning himself a Super Bowl LVII ring.
Buechele will serve as a backup to quarterbacks to Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky.
Allen is currently in the NFL MVP race, battling with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley for the prestigious award.
In the Bills' final game of the season, a loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, Allen recorded two touchdowns and 237 yards with a 64.7 completion percentage.
