The Buffalo Bills are heading back to the drawing board after falling short in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bills Assistant Coach Leaves After AFC Championship Game

Despite wins over the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens in the postseason, Buffalo capped off another disappointing year in their Super Bowl window with quarterback Josh Allen.

Following the AFC Championship Game, Buffalo's assistant defensive line coach Matt Edwards accepted the defensive line coach role with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Tom Pelissero.

Edwards served as the Bills' assistant defensive line coach, for one season, after being on the Las Vegas Raiders' coaching staff from 2022 to 2023.

Edwards has also spent time with the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2021, where he had a significant role with the special teams staff.

Before accepting his first role with the Titans in the NFL landscape, Edwards also spent time at the collegiate level with programs like Miami (Ohio), Kent State and Florida Atlantic.

Edwards will join a new coaching staff in Jacksonville, led by recently hired head coach Liam Coen.

Coen accepted the position as head coach of the Jaguars after serving as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator in 2024. He also spent ample time with the Los Angeles Rams, in various roles, such as wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator.
