The Buffalo Bills made a statement on Sunday in their 30-21 win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now sitting at 9-2 entering their bye week, the Bills out-played the Chiefs on both sides of the ball, out-gaining them by over 100 yards.
One of Buffalo's biggest standouts was defensive captain and linebacker Terrel Bernard, who led all players with eight combined tackles, a sack and the game-sealing interception on the Chiefs' final drive.
Bernard was awarded for his all-around dominant performance, as he was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11.
This is the second time in Bernard's career that he's earned the honor. He first earned the title in Week 3 of the 2023 season.
Despite missing three games this season, Bernard's leadership has been integral for Buffalo's success this season. He currently has 57 combined tackles, a sack and two interceptions.
"He's just a playmaker," said defensive back Cam Lewis. "He's the captain of our defense, and makes everything go with the communication… he just makes plays time and time again. That's what he does, and he shows that every time he's on the field."
Bernard now has time to fully heal up and prepare for the final stretch of the regular-season. He missed the Bills' playoff matchup with the Chiefs last season, so if the two teams were to meet again in the upcoming postseason, he could be a game-changing addition for Buffalo.
