The Buffalo Bills were in the top of the half of the league in 2024 when it came to how many rushing yards they allowed. But their passing defense left a bit to be desired, as they allowed the ninth-most passing yards this past season.
They could make an effort to fix that by signing someone in free agency to help their secondary.
In a recent article by Alex Buck of NFL Analysis, he lists one free agency addition that all 32 teams could make before the start of the 2025 season. For the reigning AFC East champions, he thinks they could go after Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons.
"Buffalo has a very strong roster, but there are question marks surrounding the pass rush and the safety group," Buck wrote. "Simmons would immediately improve the unit, even if only on a one-year veteran deal."
After being with the Denver Broncos for eight seasons, Simmons signed with the Atlanta Falcons this past season, and had a very solid 2024 campaign.
He had a very solid 62 total tackles, 36 of which were solo tackles. He was also able to show his ball-hawk skills by defending seven passes and snagging two interceptions.
Before this past season, Simmons had been Second Team All-Pro three years in a row, so there is no doubt that the 31-year-old safety can still get it done.
The Bills were eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs yet again in this past season's playoffs, so they could sign a veteran like Simmons to come in and help them redeem themselves in 2025.
