Bills Expected To Be Top Dog In AFC East - Again

The Buffalo Bills have been the chief destroyers of the AFC East since Tom Brady left for Tampa Bay back in 2020, rattling off five straight division titles.

Bills Expected To Be Top Dog In AFC East - Again

Josh Allen, since Buffalo's dominance began in that year, is 24-6 against the AFC East, so it is no wonder many call the Bills the bully of the division.

But can we expect the same in 2025?

The Bills did fortify their defensive line and got Allen another weapon in Josh Palmer, so the roster is, on paper, potentially better than last season.

The New England Patriots had a huge offseason, bringing in a host of quality players to surround Drake Maye with. The Miami Dolphins still struggle in cold weather, and the New York Jets are an unknown commodity right now, with a lot of hope floating around the franchise.

That leaves the Bills as the only constant, and for Sports Illustrated's Matt Verderame, when ranking the rosters in the AFC East, there's no second-guessing for who lands at the top.

"The Bills have been the standard of the division for the last five years, and there's no reason to think that won't be the case again next season," Verderame writes. "Going into the spring, Buffalo has the AFC East's best roster by a wide margin."

Such was the state of the division last year that the Bills wrapped it up neatly midway through the year.

Now, that likely won't happen again, but there is a clear clubhouse leader for the division, and the bullies of the AFC East will be a juggernaut that will want to continue to burn through the division.

Yes, the Patriots, Jets, and Dolphins will be improved, but the division still goes through one team and one team only, and that's the Bills, who have perhaps one of the best rosters in football.

Buffalo is the bully in the schoolyard of the AFC East, and that shows no signs of changing in 2025.
