Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane has been one of the more aggressive general managers in football this offseason - and now that may cost him more than he bargained for.
The Bills inked free agent deals with some of the top names on the open market including Joey Bosa, Joshua Palmer, and Larry Ogunjobi. This coming after the organization locked up extensions for some of their young core such as Terrel Bernard and the Bills don't have a ton of cap space left to operate.
And with future extensions needed for running back James Cook and cornerback Christian Benford, the Bills know that they have a tight situation on their hands.
“I don't have an actual number for you. We're still working through some things, but, you know, we're running tight with knowing you have to save money for the draft picks," said Beane.
Buffalo has won the AFC East for five straight years and remains a favorite to compete for the AFC crown next season. They have the reigning league MVP and a quality defense to lead the way.
But in the salary cap era, the Bills know they have plenty more moves to make to get them over the hump when compared to an organization like the Kansas City Chiefs.
Which is what makes their cap situation so dire at this point.

"Even if you're under on this Top 51, we've had to do moves in the past at the 53 cut. When you have to, include everyone, practice squad, whoever's gone on IR, injury replacement costs, all that, so we're getting thin. We've changed stores that we're shopping in," said Beane.
Buffalo currently has around just over $5 million in cap space to operate.
So, maybe moves are coming along the way. ... but they're "getting thin.''
