Perhaps intending on marrying one of the top Hollywood stars has some unintended benefits on the big screen for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen?
As Allen gets closer to his wedding to actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld, the quarterback found out Wednesday that he will also be on the big screen very soon - for a completely different reason.
With the league announcement that the Bills will be on HBO's Hard Knocks, Allen's stardom as the reigning league MVP will take center stage. And whether it's about integrating new players into the offense, or pushing for a Super Bowl the signal-caller is about to be on center stage for most of the show.
That's fine for NFL Network host Kyle Brandt.
The long-time host of Good Morning Football is excited to see what the show can do with a league MVP on the show. ... And start a new trend for the streaming show.
"There's always this reaction of, 'Oh no, this is not good. We don't want the cameras in there, it's disruptive," said Brandt on GMFB. "'The Hard Knocks teams never do squat, it never pans out.' Have you ever taken a moment to look at the quarterbacks that they have featured on those teams?"
Brandt's point is that there is no HBO jinx here.
The league altered the rule this past offseason regarding teams that were eligible to be placed on Hard Knocks. Now, any and all playoff contenders will be placed on the show, and the Bills are the first team to be placed there.
Which leaves Allen in the spotlight right away.
