Bills’ Josh Allen Reveals Humbling Take on MVP Meaning

For most quarterbacks, winning an MVP award can be the highlight of their career. It's an honor not to be taken lightly.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has a different idea on how to treat his reigning MVP award status.

In an exclusive Sports Illustrated interview, Allen talked about the honor of winning the award … but how it meant little compared to his overall legacy and goals.

"I still didn't win a Super Bowl. Didn't win a ring, and that is the only goal. It's the only focus that I've ever had going into this league," said Allen. "The one positive, I will say, about winning an MVP means that your team is in a good position.

"You're making the playoffs, you're playing well, and you're doing whatever you can to help your team win football games."

Allen's response to his MVP trophy is pretty humble stuff. He's become one of the best quarterbacks in the sport, but he knows his legacy will be tied directly to whether he can get the Bills to the promised land.

In order to do that, Allen will likely need to find a way to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite having regular-season success against their bitter rivals, Allen and the Bills have yet to defeat the Chiefs in the playoffs.

Making matters worse, Kansas City has won three Super Bowls during that span.

Allen's MVP season was impressive. Despite the added popularity the award can bring, the Bills' franchise signal-caller is expecting more from himself in 2025 - and more from his team.
