With the Edmonton Oilers winning the Western Conference again, they have created more space in between themselves and the team to win the next most amount of Clarence S. Campbell Bowls in NHL history, the Chicago Blackhawks.
With Edmonton's back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances, they have now won the trophy nine times. The Blackhawks have seven, getting three last decade and winning every time they went to the finals.
The Blackhawks were the third franchise to get the trophy in 1970-71 and won three times in a row. The Philadelphia Flyers were the first, followed by the St. Louis Blues in back-to-back seasons. Chicago didn't win it again until 1991-92 and then in the 2010s as mentioned.
Since the Blackhawks last won the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl in 2015, eight different teams have etched their name on it and only two teams have done so twice, the Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights.
The Blackhawks are firmly in second place as the Flyers and Detroit Red Wings, both teams in the Eastern Conference, are behind them with six wins, followed by the Dallas Stars with four. Dallas has been right there with three consecutive Western Conference Final losses, but with what Chicago is building, the hope is that they are back in the mix sooner than later.
