Blackhawks Legend Kane Can Become All-Time American Points Leader in 2025-26

Patrick Kane is one of the best Chicago Blackhawks players of all-time and is possibly soon to be thought of as the best American-born player too. He currently sits third all time in points by an American, behind only Brett Hull and Mike Modano. He has been in third for over a season now since there is a gap between him and Phil Housley in fourth.

Kane is 36 years old and still has time to not only pass Hull and Modano, but create some separation. He would have to have a more serious injury to not become the all-time American points leader next season.

He has 1343 points in his career in 1302 regular season games. 1225 of those points came with the Blackhawks over 16 seasons. He posted 12 points with the New York Rangers once he was traded, and has put up 106 points for the Detroit Red Wings over the past two seasons. Kane has put together 11 point-per-game seasons as well.

Hull holds the record in points by an American with 1391. He did that in 1269 games. Modano is close behind him with 1374 points in 1499 games.

Kane needs 32 points to pass Modano and 49 points to pass Hull. Kane put up 47 points in 50 games in 2023-24 and 59 points in 72 games last season for the Red Wings. I don't see him having a problem reaching the 50-point mark again, especially with a good group of young players in Detroit's top-6 and on the power play.
