Blackhawks' Spencer Knight is One of the Most Impressive Goalies Under 25

The NHL is full of young talent and the league has been getting younger in recent years. The Chicago Blackhawks have some of that young talent on their team and have impressive players at every position.

While talking about goalies, Spencer Knights, acquired by the Florida Panthers last season, was named one of top 10 goalies under 25 years old. In fact, he was listed as number two behind only Dustin Wolf by NHL.com.

Some of the goalies behind him in the rankings were Yasoslav Askarov, Leevi Merilainen, Jacob Fowler, Trey Augustine, Jet Greaves, Devon Levi, Jesper Wallstedt, and Joel Blomqvist.

Knight has the most experience of any goalie on this list and will be 24 years old for the entirety of next season. He is 49-33-9 with a career 2.83 GAA, .904 SV%, and five shutouts. On a bad Blackhawks team, it won't be easy for him to keep his numbers at that level as they were below after the trade from Florida.

Just like with forwards and defensemen, goalies' numbers will rise as the team gets more mature and better over the coming seasons. Knight is one of the only goalies drafted in the first round in the NHL and still has high expectations. The hope is that Arvid Soderblom plays well and challenges Knight for starts, but it looks like Knight has the upper hand in 2025-26 and for the future.
