Paige DeSorbo has been booked and busy over the past few months, juggling her Giggly Squad podcast tour, the release of her first book How to Giggle: A Guide to Taking Life Less Seriously with co-host Hannah Berner, as well as a highly-publicized breakup with Southern Charm’s Craig Conover. During an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, DeSorbo admitted that the pressure got to her on the road as she opened up about having a full-blown panic attack “15 minutes” before taking the stage during her Denver podcast tour stop—and the unlikely way she got through it.
In the April 29 episode, the Summer House star opened up about struggling with her mental health during her Giggly Squad tour, which began in September 2024 and ended with a final show on March 9. “We were in Denver, we had just started our tour,” she said about the September 18 show, revealing that she started feeling like she was having a panic attack just moments before she and Berner were about to go on stage. “My hands are numb, I’m crying, I’m throwing up. I’m like ‘no, yeah I’m having a panic attack,'" she recalled.
Paige DeSorbo says she had a panic attacks minutes before going on stage for her 'Giggly Squad' tour.
DeSorbo revealed that Berner tried to help her calm down by playing “spa music in the background,” sharing, “She’s like ‘hey is this helping?’ And I’m like ‘Not at all.’” While the “YouTube spa music” didn’t do anything, Berner’s unlikely outfit unexpectedly snapped her out of her panic attack.
“I’m literally in the midst of crying, tears are running down my face and I realize that Hannah has forgotten her shirt that she’s wearing out on stage. So she’s going to wear this silk pajama shirt that the venue had given us, this merch,” the Bravo star shared. “I can’t even speak and the only words I can get out are ‘You can’t wear that shirt on stage.’ And she looks over at me and she’s like ‘You’re having a panic attack and you’re gonna tell me what I’m going to wear?’”
Paige DeSorbo says her 'Giggly Squad' co-host Hannah Berner helped her through her panic attack.
“Luckily I had a T-shirt in my bag that was extra, and I was like ‘put this on,’” the reality star explained. “She put it on, her outfit was fine, and then I got out of my panic attack.”
All jokes aside, DeSorbo said that “a lot of Beta blockers and Xanax” as well as her mom’s tough love also played a role in ending her panic attack. Berner recalled, “She’s FaceTiming her mom, she’s like ‘Hannah this isn’t working. I’m just Facetiming Kim.’ So I’m just listening, supporting, and all I hear is ‘Paige, stop. Paige, stop it. You’re fine.’ She hangs up, we start dying laughing. We’re like, your mom just told you to stop.”
Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover in November, before they broke up.
DeSorbo, who broke up with Conover in November, recently opened up about how her panic attacks were connected to her relationship with the reality star.
“I had to do a lot of damage control while I was the one performing and about to go out on stage,” she shared on the Summer House After Show. “So when I started having panic attacks this fall, while I was doing Giggly Squad, he just thought it was because I worked too much so it played into his, ‘Well, you work too much and you shouldn’t be doing all of this … ’ It would never be his fault, no.”
