Bold & Beautiful Game-Changer: Steffy’s Betrayal *Pales* in Comparison to the One That’s Speeding Toward Us — and [Spoiler]

When we saw the preview for the week of March 24 on The Bold and the Beautiful, we could scarcely believe our ears. “Until you take responsibility,” Brooke cried to daughter Hope, “I have no sympathy for you.” Like, none? Nada? Zilch? Ouch. If you can’t count on your mom to have your back, who can you rely on?!?

Truth be told, we were more stunned by Brooke’s stance than we were Steffy’s. You remember the way she shrugged off her father and grandfather’s promise to Carter, suspended Hope For the Future and re-showed Hope to the door? That was bad, we’ll grant you, a very Stephanie-like disregard for vows that she didn’t think should have been made in the first place.

But for Brooke to not only throw her daughter under the bus but put the vehicle in gear and accelerate over her? That has got to be worse. And not for nothing, but the house Brooke’s in is made of glass; she’s really taking chances throwing stones.

Brooke cry B&B

You’ll recall that way back when, Brooke had no problem seizing controlling interest in Forrester Creations when “destiny” Ridge refused to leave Taylor for her. (That wrinkle-free fabric formula has served Brooke well.) Is that so very different from what Hope encouraged Carter to do in the wake of her firing by Steffy?

What’s more, Hope has cut Brooke slack countless times. Hell, Hope has defended Brooke countless times, when she’s been accused of being an opportunist whose favorite currency is sex. Hope even forgave Brooke for not being able to tell the difference between Ridge and her daughter’s horny twentysomething boyfriend when they hooked up at her high-school graduation party. “He was wearing a mask” is not an excuse for someone who knows the dressmaker’s bod as well as Brooke does!
