Bold & Beautiful Just Put Deacon On Luna’s Hit List — But Next Week’s Return of [Spoiler] Will Change Everything!

This has to be the end of the line for Bold & Beautiful‘s Luna… right? That’s just one of the questions I have after this week’s episodes, and we’re going to talk about all of them right now. Strap in, ’cause this could get bumpy!

Why Is Luna Still a Thing?

Look, let’s just say the quiet part out loud, shall we? Luna’s story has made zero sense for a while now. No matter how many times the writers told us that Bill felt “connected” to the serial killer because of their mutual daddy issues, I didn’t buy it. And when he got her paroled, only to then boot her from the mansion, it was maddeningly nonsensical. Plot points  were introduced and dropped, and important details such as where she was living and how she was supporting herself went completely unanswered.

This week, she suddenly had a fully furnished apartment and enough money to buy a gun off some rando. How did she find him? Who knows. Where did the envelope of cash come from? Got me! When this show’s writers want to get from Point A to Point Z, they often don’t pay a lot of attention to everything in the middle.

Of course, even when supercharging the storyline, there’s plenty of time for flashbacks. The end of Thursday’s episode featured Luna pacing and flashing back to past arguments with Steffy which were wildly unnecessary given that her reasons for wanting Finn’s wife out of the way were all anyone had talked about for days.

Yeah, That’s Not How It Works

Not to sound like The Oldest Man on the Internet, but Luna is coming across as the ultimate entitled brat. “I am paying for my crimes!” she whined to Steffy, insisting that being kept away from Finn was “worse than being in a jail cell. It’s torture!”

Really, Luna? Then how about we strike a deal: You go to prison for the rest of your life and we’ll allow Finn to pay you a visit once a year. Twice a year if you behave well. Heck, we’ll even throw in a special Christmas Day visit. Deal?

Make It Make Sense

After barging into Steffy and Finn’s house, Ridge suggested that they should all up their security. Hey, here’s a thought on where to start: Lock your dang doors!

During the Covid era, one of the ways Bold & Beautiful — which was the first show to come back after shutting down — came up with various ways to keep their actors at a safe distance from one another. One way in which they did that was that characters started simply letting themselves into one another’s homes. At the time, it not only made sense but was kinda brilliant. While those days are thankfully gone, everyone on the show continues to just wander into one another’s homes, even as they worry about not only Luna but her grandma.

Too Little, Too Late

Friday had Bill paying a call to Luna and speaking some harsh truths to her. “You are not the victim here,” he said sternly. “You know that, right? You are not the victim. You poisoned two men and killed them. You kidnapped Steffy and locked her in a cage. You left her for dead.”

Not a single lie told. But here’s the thing: Bill knew all of that when he got her out of jail, not to mention when he arranged for her to be pardoned! Luna then insisted yet again that she’s not a dangerous person and won’t ever be again. But girl, you just bought a gun!

Here Comes Trouble!

When Luna went to visit Deacon — talk about desperate! — I couldn’t help but notice that he was clutching a knife. For a hot second, I wondered if she might attack him, leading Deacon to kill his wife’s granddaughter. That seemed especially possible as the final shot showed Luna reaching into her purse, undoubtedly for her gun.

But the scenes for next week seemed to indicate that Deacon will remain unscathed… and that Remy’s on his way back to the canvas. Viewers will recall that he and Luna briefly bonded during her time at Bill’s estate. Given that the two unbalanced young people reconnect at a gun range, might she try and seduce him into doing her bidding by killing Steffy?

Random Thoughts

• The line of the week has to go to Ridge. After catching Will and Electra kissing in the design room, he said, “HR might tell you something different, but I think kissing in the office is good for morale. I’m guilty of it myself!”

• If Sheila was so determined to tell Finn and Steffy about Luna — a good instinct, by the way — why didn’t she text when they refused to take her calls?

• The guy Luna bought the gun from asked if she knew how to use it… as she was holding it in such a way that, were it to go off, he’d have been eating lead
