Boston Bruins Forward Could Be Big Surprise

Don’t be surprised if this Boston Bruins forward hits a new level in 2024-25.

Johnny Beecher was among the many feel-good stories of the Boston Bruins' 2023-24 season. Due to a strong training camp, Beecher overcame the odds and secured a spot on the Bruins' opening night roster.

While Beecher ended up splitting the season between the NHL and AHL, it was still a successful campaign for the 2019 first-round pick. He showed that he works well in a bottom-six role, and he should be right back there at the start of the 2024-25 season.

Beecher appeared in 52 games last season with Boston, posting seven goals, 10 points, 112 hits, and a 54.6 faceoff winning percentage. Overall, he was impactful in a bottom-six role, as he provided plenty of physicality, worked on the penalty kill, and was excellent at the dot.

Heading into 2024-25, it is fair to argue that Beecher could take his game to a new level. While he made an immediate impact with his defensive play and grit, he also has the potential to be a more significant offensive threat next season. With the 2023-24 campaign being his rookie year, he is still adjusting to the NHL level.

It will be very interesting to see what kind of season Beecher can put together for the Bruins in 2024-25. The Elmira, New York native has the potential to take a big step forward, and he should get more significant opportunities with Boston this upcoming campaign because of it. Perhaps a 15-goal campaign could be in the cards.
