Boston Bruins Should Sign Veteran Forward

The Bruins should consider targeting this veteran forward.

The Boston Bruins have had a busy start to the offseason, signing Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, Max Jones, and more. Overall, they have added some solid pieces, but they should not be done just yet.

When looking at the Bruins' forward group, it is fair to argue that it could use a bit more depth. The Bruins lost a decent chunk of it this offseason, as players like Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, Pat Maroon, and Jesper Boqvist have signed elsewhere. James van Riemsdyk was also not brought back and remains a free agent.

When looking at the players left on the free-agent market, one player who should grab the Bruins' attention is Tyler Johnson.

If the Bruins signed Johnson, he would provide them with another experienced option for their bottom six. The Spokane, Washington native still provides decent secondary scoring at this juncture of his career. His 17 goals and 31 points in 67 games this past season effectively display this. He also posted a 32-point campaign in 56 games back in 2022-23 with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Johnson's versatility would also make him a fine addition to the Bruins' lineup. Besides playing down the middle, he also works on the wing, so he would be a nice fit in their bottom six.

On a cheap one-year deal, Johnson would have the potential to be a steal for the Bruins. Let's see if they target him from here.
