Brad Marchand can extend his Boston Bruins record in 2024-25.
Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand has had a remarkable NHL career and is not showing too many signs of slowing down. He was once again one of the Bruins' top players during the 2023-24 campaign, posting 29 goals and 67 points in 82 games. He also had a strong postseason, recording three goals and 10 points in 11 games.
Marchand made some history with his strong regular season, as it was his 11th consecutive 20-goal season with the club, which is the longest stretch in Bruins history. Now, in 2024-25, he will look to build on it.
Given Marchand's immense consistency, it is hard to bet against him reaching 20 goals again. This is especially so when noting that he is still expected to be a significant part of the Bruins' top six and power play next. Thus, he will be in a position to succeed.
Marchand's 11-year 20-goal streak began during the 2013-14 season when he posted 25 goals and 53 points in 82 games. Besides his 20-game season as a fringe NHLer for the Bruins in 2009-10, the only time Marchand did not reach 20 goals was during the 2012-13 season. Yet, he certainly would have, had it not been for the NHL lockout wiping out nearly half of the season, as he had 18 goals in 45 games that campaign.
Nevertheless, Marchand's goal-scoring consistency is one of the many reasons he became a star in the NHL. Let's see if he can keep his 20-goal season streak going in 2024-25.
