Brad Marchand Makes Bruins History After Hitting Impressive Milestone

Brad Marchand is a great leader for the Boston Bruins, with the 36-year old well into his 16th season with the team after being drafted way back in the third-round of the 2006 NHL Draft.

The future of the current Bruins captain is up in the air beyond 2024/25, but for now, he's living in the moment, putting up an impressive two points and a +4 differential as the team picked up a much needed 6-3 win over the San Jose Sharks.

With that assist, Marchand joined some elite company in Bruins history, as he joined the likes of Ray Borque, Patrice Bergeron and Johnny Bucyk with 10-straight 20 assist seasons for the Bruins.

Brad Marchand became the eighth player in #NHLBruins history to record 10 straight 20-assist seasons. The others: Ray Bourque (21), Johnny Bucyk (20), Patrice Bergeron (15), David Krejci (14), Wayne Cashman (14), Rick Middleton (11), and Terry O'Reilly (10).

While there's been some criticism of Marchand's play this season, he's got a solid 17 goals and 37 points in 48 games played, as he's now fast approaching 1,000 career points after posting 966 in 1,077 games.

At 36-years of age, there's questions about his future in Boston however, as he will hit free agency for the first time in eight years, and with the Bruins future up in the air given the lack of elite level prospects coming through the organization, it's safe to say that whatever decision they do make on No. 63 could majorly define the future of this Original Six franchise.
