Brandi Glanville will have a difficult time enjoying the holidays this year. Her ongoing battle against a facial “parasite” has her “desperately” looking for answers. And until there is a diagnosis, she has little hope of recovering her health.
There was recent progress. Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow reached out to Brandi to offer his services. And the two were scheduled to meet at his Los Angeles office this past week. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum needs a miracle, if only for her own mental health.
Brandi appeared on the Page Six Virtual Reali-Tea podcast recently to discuss how her facial disfigurement has affected her mentally. She told hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy that the appearance of her face starting to “sink in” was very disheartening.
“I prefer [my face] when it’s a little swollen, to be honest,” Brandi explained. “When it’s only swollen on one side, it’s not great. But the sinking in thing is killing me slowly, because I just feel like I look like a crackhead.”
The reality TV star restarted antibiotics after noticing her gaunt appearance. Brandi “so desperately” wants a resolution on the health concern that is two years in the making. And she is willing to try anything at this point.
“You could do anything you want to me, and I’d be OK with it,” she said.
“I’ve had days of looking normal, not weeks. I wish. But it comes and goes.” Brandi continued. “Over the weekend, it was only swollen on the right side of my face, so I looked like I had a really big meatball in the right side of my cheek.”
When her face does swell, Brandi notices an “oily fluid” on her face. She feels “disgusting” and “so gross” in this state.
Understandably, the ongoing ailment and its effect on Brandi’s looks is making her depressed. Especially this time of year. She previously admitted to living like a recluse these days.
“It’s hard to hide out during Christmas when everyone’s having their parties. It’s depressing. It just hurts my brain and my heart,” Brandi shared. “The pain is more mental than anything because I have been hiding and going through a deep, deep depression. Even if I could work now, at this point, I couldn’t. So it’s just been a really rough two years for me.”
Sadly, Brandi’s children have been frightened of her at times of a flare-up. She started wearing a mask in their home to cover her “scary” face.
Amid the New Year, Brandi is just hoping to get better.
“Honestly, health is wealth and that’s all I want,” she said.
