Good news for fans: Bravo is working to save “The Real Housewives of New York City,” according to a new report.
The status of the long-running reality show was called into question in May 2025 after the franchise was left off of a “returning” show list released by the network. A subsequent Page Six report teased that the show was “going off the air,” but fans have since received promising news.
On May 9, a Bravo spokesperson told People magazine in a statement, “Nothing is official. The show hasn’t been canceled.”
Bravo producer Andy Cohen also confirmed the RHONY would be back, writing in an Instagram comment that the show is “not cancelled.”
RHONY has been on “pause” for several months after airing two seasons with a revamped cast. The 15th season of the show starred Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Brynn Whitfield, Jessel Taank, Sai De Silva, and Jenna Lyons, as well as newcomers Racquel Chevremont and Rebecca Minkoff.
Producers Hope to Find a Solution to RHONY’s Reboot Problem

Fans have been waiting for news on RHONY. According to a source for Us Weekly, producers are “working hard to figure out the best path forward” for the beloved show that made its debut in 2008 on Bravo.
“Final decisions haven’t been made, and they are seeing if they can find a solution,” a source told the outlet, adding that none of the season 15 cast members have been offered contracts as the network decides how to make the show “work.”
The insider also noted that ratings are down since the show was revamped two years ago, in part because the original franchise stars were so iconic. In addition to questions about the new cast’s dynamic, an insider said “there have been production issues that added to why the network and producers haven’t been sure about [RHONY’s] future.”
The Network Has Been Interviewing Potential New Cast Members

In January, producers issued a casting call for RHONY season 16. An insider told The Daily Mail that producers launched the major casting search to “find the right women to ‘fix’ the reboot so that they can bring the show back as soon as possible.”
“They’ve interviewed everybody, from celebrities like Julia Fox to affluent working New Yorkers,” the source claimed.
Another source said the season 15 ladies hope to return to the show, but it could also return with a hybrid of old and new cast members.
“[The show] won’t be back until they get the casting and storylines right for next season, which could take a while,” another source said of RHONY.
