A would-be burglar learned a painful lesson Monday night — don’t break into the home of a professional football player. Especially one built like a wall.
According to local authorities, an attempted robbery at a suburban Green Bay home was abruptly and violently stopped when the intruder unknowingly targeted the residence of a Green Bay Packers offensive lineman.
The player’s name has not been officially released by police, but sources confirm he is a 6’6”, 320-pound starter on the Packers roster — and he treated the situation like a live snap on third-and-long.
The suspect reportedly forced entry through a back door just after midnight, expecting an empty house. Instead, he was met by the towering figure of the NFL veteran, who immediately took him to the ground and restrained him until police arrived.
“Let’s just say he didn’t get far. Our guy dropped him like it was Sunday at Lambeau,” said a law enforcement officer on the scene.
