Brit Eady has announced she is leaving “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after appearing on the show for just one season. Eady took to Instagram to make the official announcement, explaining, “I decided to walk away from something that no longer serves me because I choose peace over destroying my mental.”
Accompanying Eady’s announcement is a series of photos of her glammed up in a gold gown, holding what appears to be her RHOA peach on fire. The caption of the post continues, “It’s very easy to say what I should have done, when most have not walked a day in my shoes.”
Eady went on to write, “I still have a lot of healing left to do, but you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick. I don’t owe anyone closure, I only owe myself to do what’s best for me.” She concluded her post by saying simply, “My journey here is done.”
Eady’s Feud With Kenya Moore
Eady made her RHOA debut on season 16 of the series. Her tagline might have clued some fans in to the fact that she was ready to bring some drama: “I’m pretty and paid, of course there’s haters trying to shade.”
And in true “Housewives” fashion, there was more than enough drama to go around. However, the feud between Eady and co-star Kenya Moore went beyond shady and became very problematic. An episode of the series featured the opening of Moore’s hair salon, during which she displayed a graphic, poster-sized photo of a woman she claimed to be Eady.
After an investigation of the incident, Moore was suspended from filming and subsequently exited the show. Moore appeared on “Tamron Hall Show” soon after and apologized. “If I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation,” she said, adding, “I didn’t have to take it that far.”
Eady Opted Out of the Reunion
Part one of the RHOA reunion aired on July 13 on Bravo, with parts two and three airing July 20 and July 27. While Moore was not invited to participate in the reunion show, Eady chose not to attend on her own accord.
In an Instagram Story explaining she would not appear at the reunion, Eady also addressed the issue of the explicit photo. “I do not know who was in that photo, but upon seeing it for the first time recently, I now know it was not me,” she wrote. “I look forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark part of my life.”
