Britain's Got Talent confirms two "world class" finalists: "A star is born"
Britain's Got Talent has confirmed two of its last finalists, with Binita Chetry and Harry Moulding reaching the showpiece event.
The ITV reality show returned on Saturday (24 May) with the last of five semi-finals, with eight more contestants aiming for a place in next week's grand final and a shot at showing their talent at the Royal Variety Performance.
Following a public vote, hosts Ant & Dec announced nine-year-old gymnast Binita as the winner, with the contestant narrowly beating Han & Fran and CJ Emmons.
"I feel very good. I worked very hard for the semi-final, and I'm going to try my best for the final," said Binita, who hails from India. The gymnast was hailed as a "wonder girl" and a "powerhouse" by Amanda Holden, who added that she was "in awe" of her acrobatics.
"It's really simple - you are one of the best dancers we have ever had on this stage. You are world class," remarked Alesha Dixon, with Simon Cowell adding: "Incredible - that is how you do it. A star is born - you have so much talent."
The public vote came after magician Harry had secured his place in the final after judge KSI awarded him the Golden Buzzer for a performance which "blew his mind", with Harry's routine also including an on-stage proposal from a couple who were in the live audience.
"The matchmaking magician," quipped Bruno Tonioli, with Amanda revealing that she had "goosebumps" throughout the "unbelievable" performance. "That moment was special," added Alesha, with Simon declaring Harry as the "frontrunner" for the title.
Harry, who said that his life had been "building to this moment", shared that he had something special planned for the final, teasing: "I'm going to take it to a level nobody has ever seen before."
Binita and Harry will be joined in the grand final by The Blackouts, Vinnie McKee, Olly Pearson, Stacey Leadbeatter, Jasmine Rice, Ping Pong Pang, Joseph Charm and Hear Our Voice, with the judges still to select one wildcard for the line-up.
