Britain's Got Talent fans ask 'what's going on' after disappointing Teddy Magic update

Britain's Got Talent viewers were left confused at the start of the second live semi-final on Saturday

Britain's Got Talent fans asked "what's going on" after a disappointing Teddy Magic update.

The hit talent show returned to screens on Saturday night (May 3) for the second live semi-final of the series, with another eight acts performing for a place in the grand final.

Magician Alexandra Burgio, dancers Cheer re Mans, magician and dancer Jannick Holste, singer John Pierce, dancers Lil M's, guitarist Olly Pearson, singer Stacey Leadbeatter and impressionist Will Burns were all set to take to the stage.

However, at the start of the show, hosts Ant and Dec didn't provide an update on young magician Teddy Magic after he failed to perform last week.

During the first semi-final, Dec announced a "little change of plan" as Ant confirmed that Teddy wasn't ready backstage.

After a short chat with the judges, the presenters confirmed that they'd return to Teddy's act later in the show.

Later on, as the episode neared its close, Dec disclosed that Teddy wouldn't be returning that night after all, saying: "[Teddy] won't be performing tonight but we hope to see him later on in the series."

It was expected that he might perform in another semi-final, but it was confirmed earlier this week that Teddy wasn't part of tonight's line-up.

During tonight's live show, BGT viewers quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their confusion after no update was shared on the youngster, with one person writing: "No Teddy Magic tonight again? What's going on?"

"Bring back Teddy Magic!" another added, while a third noted: "Another Teddy no show."

"All I want to know is Teddy okay after last week live show drama?" a fourth fan said, while another similarly shared: "I love teddy magic he is not on the semi finals 2nd week where is he guys???"

A sixth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: "Well this is not going much better than last week as the first act didn't get on till 10 minutes in, and they still haven't told us what's going with Teddy Magic at least not really!"

Elsewhere on tonight's show, Simon Cowell was given control of the coveted golden buzzer, which can send one act straight through to the final.

Last week's semi-final saw dance troupe The Blackouts receive Amanda Holden's golden buzzer, while Scottish singer Vinnie McKee earned the highest number of public votes.
