Britain's Got Talent fans might already recognise ITV contestant

Britain’s Got Talent fans might recognise a contestant from tonight’s episode. The popular ITV programme is back on our screens for yet another series.

This year, regular judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli and Simon Cowell all took their usual spots on the judging panel.

On Saturday, March 22, fans watched as Jannick Holste took to the stage buzzing with confidence he could with the judges over - and he did exactly that. The larger-than-life act said he was a magician, but not just any, he was a “special, crazy and new” one.

The 22-year-old dance teacher had the crowd cheering as he delivered a dance performance to Spice Girl’s Spice Up Your Life while performing tricks with the help of a group of assistants.

Jannick received a yes from all four judges with Bruno saying: “I have lost all words. It was a magic and camp extravaganza.” Echoing a similar sentiment Alesha said: “I’ve never seen anything like this. I loved every minute of it.” Amanda said: “Super entertaining. That was brilliant and fantastic. I loved every aspect. I can’t wait to see what you do next.”

Jannick is no stranger to TV, having previously appeared on shows before. Notably the American and German version of the competition. The contestant, originally from Germany, participated in the 15th series of the show before being eliminated in the semi-finals.

His American audition consisted of performing a magic act combined with dance where he made several other performers appear out of nowhere. Similar to that of tonight's. All four judges voted "Yes", sending him to the next round.

His semi-final performance was a routine to Zedd ft. Ariana Grande's "Break Free". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara gave him standing ovations.

Despite this, he did not receive enough votes to enter the top five of the night, eliminating him from the competition.

The ITV show returned this year two months earlier than usual, and is set to be on our screens for four months this year. It will only be showed on Saturdays, with the next episode being March 29 at 7pm.

The series will conclude in May with the final episode showcasing the winner who will receive a £250,000 cash prize and a performance slot at the Royal Variety Performance.
