The TV presenter thanked Amanda Holden for her friendship on Sunday, May 18's show.
This weekend's Britain's Got Talent semi-final featured an unexpected cameo from Davina McCall, who shared a touching moment with judge Amanda Holden.
Initiated by contestant TK Magic, the Masked Singer UK panelist was FaceTimed by Holden as part of his card-selecting routine. Things went remarkably smoothly considering this was a live TV setting and special guest McCall was massively impressed by the magician's skills.
While signing off, McCall took the time to thank her friend Holden for making the effort to go and visit during her recent recovery from brain surgery.
What, how and why?
Pointing her mobile phone's camera directly at the BGT stage after TK Magic's routine concluded, Holden said: "We've got a fifth judge this evening, I feel like Davina wants to say something..."
"TK, I just wanna say thanks so much for choosing to FaceTime me, that was the most exciting Sunday evening I've ever had!" began McCall, with co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly clearly trying to keep the live show rolling.
Interjecting their thanks, the 57-year-old continued: "Secondly, I just very quickly want to say thank you to Amanda Holden, who after my operation made the [trip] all the way down the country to come and see me. I really, really appreciate you."
Holden wouldn't hear it though, telling her friend "oh stop!" with a smile before hanging up.
McCall was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour known as a colloid cyst in 2024. By late November she'd been operated on and was resting up at home with her partner Michael Douglas offering updates on her recovery to fans.
Posting an update on Instagram at the time, McCall told her millions of fans: "I am feeling much better now that I'm home. I'm being brilliantly looked after by Michael and Gaby, my (step)mum, and just to say that, I'm now just trying to sleep a lot and get better.
"My short term memory is really improving a lot every day, and it has been an example to me on how much sleep helps me recover from everything. So if I feel a bit confused or I'm struggling to kind of concentrate, I just go to sleep and I wake up completely renewed and refreshed so I know that my brain needs lots of sleep, and (I) just wanted to thank you all for your ongoing support, thanks so much."
Who reached the BGT final this week?
With just four places left in this month's grand final, comedian Joseph Charm received Alesha Dixon's Golden Buzzer, while Post Office choir Hear Our Voice won the public vote.
Reacting to the result, a member of the choir thanked the UK voters for their support before Charm — who was overcome with emotion earlier in the programme — made a special shoutout to his niece who was celebrating her birthday.
If you ask us, the Japanese dance troupe Idolls more than earned a spot alongside this year's finalists with their disturbing marionette-style choreography. Maybe they'll be back next year?
Britain's Got Talent semi-finals continue next Saturday (May 24) on ITV1 and ITVX.
