Amanda Holden has appeared to back Post Office choir Hear Our Voice to win Britain's Got Talent, declaring: "I'm not one for sitting on the fence."
Britain's Got Talent judge Holden told Good Morning Britain on Thursday, 15 May that she couldn't stay impartial and would love a group act to be able to share the £250,000 winner's prize this year.
Hear Our Voice brought judges and viewers to tears in their first audition, where they explained that they had formed the choir after all being victims of the Horizon IT scandal that saw more than 900 sub-postmasters wrongfully prosecuted for theft and false accounting. The accusations were made over errors in the Post Office's faulty computer system, but after the cover-up came to light an inquiry was launched.
The 2025 series has seen a rule change with each judge given a semi-final where they are in charge of the golden buzzer, giving them a chance to send a favourite act through to the final. However, Holden has already sent LED dance troupe The Blackouts through to the final, meaning her fellow judges or the voting public would need to pick Hear Our Voice.
What, how and why?
Britain's Got Talent is set to air its fourth live semi-final this weekend, with a limited number of places left in the grand final.
Post Office choir Hear Our Voice are one of the last semi-final acts and Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid admitted: "I'm rooting for Hear Our Voice, which is the Post Office choir. They're having such an impact, but I expect at this stage you have to remain entirely neutral."
But Holden appeared to agree with her choice, saying: "You do, you do, but you know me, I'm not one for sitting on the fence and I've always said that I would love our Britain's Got Talent winner this year to be a group of people, because it would be amazing for the money to be divvied out amongst all of them and for the joy to be spread. To be at the Royal Variety I think for a choir or a large group of people would be amazing."
Reid's co-host Richard Madeley had a question about the golden buzzer, with audiences chanting at the judges to press it for their favourites. He said: "When the audience are going crazy saying press the button, do you sometimes feel bullied into it by the mob?"
Holden replied: "Bullied is a strong word to bandy around, Richard!"
Reid suggested: "Encouraged, motivated..."
Holden agreed: "Heavily encouraged, yes. And often, you do do it because it's a live show and you rely on the public vote, and the audience is never wrong."
Why is BGT not airing on Saturday and when is the final?
There's been another schedule shake-up for Britain's Got Talent this weekend as the fourth semi-final swaps its usual Saturday air date for Sunday.
Earlier in the day, ITV will be airing the FA Cup final which could potentially push later shows back into the evening. It is a risky prospect for a live show like BGT. But with BBC One also airing the Eurovision Song Contest final from 8pm, it means potential voters in both shows can avoid a clash, too.
Fans are expecting to see one more semi-final on Saturday, 24 May as the show has run five semi-finals over the course of a week in previous years, moving to a weekly schedule this year. The Britain's Got Talent 2025 grand final date has not yet been confirmed, but looks likely to air live on Saturday, 31 May.
