Britain's Got Talent viewers all have same complaint over Alesha Dixon golden buzzer move

Britain's Got Talent fans were left divided on Sunday night as Alesha Dixon pressed the golden buzzer for comedian Joseph Charm.

Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon sparked mixed reactions when she awarded the golden buzzer to semi-finalist Joseph Charm. This year's semi-finals saw a significant shift as the golden buzzer was introduced into the live shows for the first time, allowing an act to be propelled directly to the final. First introduced in 2014, the golden buzzer has seen two acts reach the final. Now, judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli have another chance to push their favourite acts into the competition's final stages, potentially securing them victory.

During the semi-final on Sunday (May 18), which aired a day later due to the Eurovision final, it was Alesha Dixon who held the power. With acts Hear Our Voice, Idolls, Joseph Charm, Max Fox, Maya Giotea, Obsequious, Papi and TK Magic taking to the stage, any one of them could have received the buzzer, reports the Manchester Evening News.

While Papi was met with red buzzers, comedian Joseph Charm won Alesha over with his humorous and relatable routine. In a touching moment, Alesha guided Joseph's mum to the golden buzzer, pressing it together.

Joseph's performance certainly merited the fast-track to the final, but some viewers felt that an earlier act missed out on a potential spot in the final.

Idolls, a Japanese dance troupe, both frightened and impressed the judges and viewers with their performance.

The decision sparked outrage among fans of the show, with many expressing their dismay on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Idolls were overlooked by Alisha. @James6840766879 posted: "Idolls deserved that golden buzzer. What a cool act".

Another disappointed viewer, @cannylad23, chimed in: "Alicia should have idolls golden buzzer. No way they will get through otherwise", while @Natasha_H_x shared similar sentiments: "Jumping out in front of the judges was genius! I love #Idolls ! ! They should of got golden buzzer!".

However, not everyone was disappointed, as some viewers were overjoyed for the comedian. @thisisean gushed: "OMG, that was such a heartwarming moment! Alesha hitting the Golden Buzzer for Joseph Charm with his mum's help had me tearing up!".

@ThatGuyShaqq also celebrated, saying: "My guy Joseph Charm got the golden buzzer".
