Britain’s Got Talent and Gladiators face schedule clash due to this BBC change

Two of the biggest shows currently on TV will face a schedule clash this weekend due to a change in programmes on the BBC.

The third episode of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) series 18 will air at the usual time of 7pm until 8.15pm on Saturday, March 8 on ITV1 and ITVX.

However, airing at the same time until 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer will be the second quarter-final of Gladiators, series two.

Why are BGT and Gladiators on at the same time on Saturday?

The reboot of the hit game show will be starting at the later time of 7pm (instead of 5.50pm) due to a Six Nations rugby game.

From 4pm, coverage of the Scotland v Wales match (kick-off 4.45pm) at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium will air.

The Radio Times Gladiators summary for Saturday’s episode reads: “Bradley and Barney Walsh host a revival of the competition show.

“In the second quarter-final, a punishing new event sees contenders pitted against each other in an exhilarating caged race, Viper causes destruction as he escapes into the crowd.”

Who was the first golden buzzer act on BGT 2025?

During the launch show of BGT on February 22, singer Vinnie McKee became the first contestant to receive the golden buzzer in the 2025 edition.

The Glaswegian holiday park entertainer left the judges stunned with Cowell pressing the buzzer to send him through to the show’s semi-final.

The 29-year-old had performed a soulful version of The Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), which Dixon said left her “quite speechless”.

After pressing the buzzer and shaking hands with McKee, Cowell said: “That was an absolutely spectacular version, incredible.”
