EXCLUSIVE: Alesha Dixon, the singer and presenter who has served as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent: The Champions, has boarded short film Fire Lily as an executive producer.

Dixon’s involvement follows the attachment of Danish producer Kim Magnusson, who executive produced Academy Award-winning I’m Not a Robot, cementing his place as the most decorated producer in the Best Live Action Short Film category.

British filmmaker Phil Dunn’s Fire Lily begins by telling the story of the wrongful detainment of a dancer by a police officer. It then transforms into a surreal epiphany of poetry, music and dance, forcing them to confront their shared humanity and the unseen forces that shape them.

The short will shoot in Cleveland, Ohio, in November. The production team also includes Emmy-winner Obadiah Baker (The Shadow Between Us), Joyce Allen, and Theresa Godly.

Dixon, a global recording artist, said: “I’m honoured and excited to join an already stellar team of creatives and watch Fire Lily blossom. I believe this film will make a powerful impact on the world and inspire many people.”

Godly said she was “immensely grateful” for Dixon’s financial contribution and support for the film. Dunn added that Dixon will “elevate our mission.”
