Britain’s Got Talent 2024 winner has revealed that she's gone 'back to school' less than a year after winning the 17th season of the ITV talent show.

Sydnie Christmas was crowned the winner of the annual series in June last year, winning £250,000 and the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Sydnie was sent straight through to the live shows by Amanda Holden through her golden buzzer after she blew the judges away with her rendition of Tomorrow from Annie.

Staying true to her love of musicals, the 29-year-old's rendition of The Wizard of Oz's Over the Rainbow saw viewers vote her the winner ahead of magician Jack Rhodes, who came in second place, and mother-daughter dancing duo Abigail and Afronita.

Despite being hectic touring across the UK in the wake of her win, Sydnie revealed on Instagram on Sunday (March 9) that she's decided to resume her education.

"Back to school. Let's go finish this," she wrote.

Previously speaking to The Mirror about her goals, Sydnie said: "I'm going back to school in March. I'm going to finish my level three PT qualification. It's good to have something, just in case."

Taking her time with the spending of her BGT winnings, Sydnie said in October that she's 'put it all away in a savings account' due to wanting to 'save for a house'.

"All I ever wanted was stability, to be able to move on in the future and one day have children and things like that, so now, luckily enough, I've been given that. I wanted to use it in the right way. So no, I haven't touched that yet. But one day, it will be for buying a house.

"Once I earn more money in the future, hopefully, when things start rolling, then I'll treat myself to something extravagant then. But for now, I'm just happy to be working," she told the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Sydnie's plan to takeover the US with her music is off to a stellar start with her first New York show at the iconic Sony Hall already selling out, and a second date announced.

"Coming off my first tour to the news that my first ever headline show in NY @sonyhall is SOLD OUT and we’re adding a SECOND ONE at 9:30pm is beyond my wildest dreams!

"Cannot thank those that have already bought tickets enough. Your support means the absolute world to me. We’re on this journey together and my success feels like your success. So THANK YOU for making this a possibility.
