As the 35-year-old cast member of The Valley and former star of Vanderpump Rules heads to Kentucky for the holidays with her three-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, and attempts to take ownership of Mamaw’s Beer Cheese, a business she and Jax, 45, previously worked on together, she’s submitted her financial documents to her ex.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly on December 18, Brittany recently told the court that she submitted a list of her monthly income and expenses, assets and debts, and what she deemed separate vs community property to Jax.
As the outlet explained, this exchange of financial information must be submitted before their divorce can be made final.
As Pump Rules fans will recall, Brittany filed for divorce in August, listing her and Jax’s separation date as January 24 and requesting primary legal and physical custody of Cruz. She also requested that Jax be awarded visitation and that neither party be given spousal support.
In his response, Jax cited “irreconcilable differences” and claimed he and Brittany separated on September 26. He then agreed that Brittany should have primary custody, but he made no note of spousal support.
A short time later, after claiming his response contained errors, Jax hired Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.
“Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern,” the lawyer said in a statement at the time. “While Jax made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay.”
In his amended response, Jax requested joint legal custody of Cruz, checked the “other” box for physical custody, and stated that he wanted to retain any property he was gifted before and after their separation.
Meanwhile, in another set of court documents, Brittany requested she be made sole owner of the trademark for Mamaw’s Beer Cheese, which she and Jax debuted at his bar, Jax’s Studio City, last year.
During an episode of Pump Rules in 2018, she revealed to the audience that her grandmother had been selling the cheese for years as she confirmed plans to expand the business with Jax.
Years later, The U.S. Sun shared that an official trademark for Mamaw’s Beer Cheese was pending with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on November 18 — but only in Brittany’s name.
“A pending trademark application has been examined by the Office and has been published in a way that provides an opportunity for the public to oppose its registration,” the filing stated.
As the outlet noted, Brittany and Jax first filed for a trademark in 2019, but they dismissed the request in 2022.
Now that Brittany is preparing to open her own bar, Britt’s in West Hollywood, with Jax as a “silent partner,” she filed for a second time, along with an “intent to use.”
In other Brittany Cartwright news, she took to her Instagram Story on Monday to confirm that she and Cruz were headed to her family home in Kentucky.
“On a red eye tonight, wish us luck lol Kentucky here we come,” she wrote in the caption of an airport pic of her and her son.
The Valley season two is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime in early 2025.
