Broncos begin offseason program with notable player in attendance

The Denver Broncos kicked off their offseason program on Monday with a notable player in attendance.

After skipping the voluntary portion of the team's offseason program last spring, veteran wide receiver Courtland Sutton was in attendance for Day 1 of the 2025 workout program, according to a report from KUSA-TV's Mike Klis.

Sutton, 29, skipped the start of last year's offseason workouts in protest of his contract before later reporting for the mandatory portion of the offseason program. Denver added incentives to Sutton's deal last year, and the two sides are now working on a contract extension. Sutton is entering the final season of his current contract.

While Sutton and his teammates work on getting up to speed physically, general manager George Paton and coach Sean Payton are preparing for the 2025 NFL draft, which will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from April 24-26.

The Broncos will likely hold a rookie minicamp after the draft, followed by organized team activities (May 27-29 and June 3-5) and a mandatory minicamp (June 10-12). Players will then get a summer break before reporting back for the start of training camp in July.
