Bronwyn Newport ‘Totally Great’ With Husband Todd Bradley Despite RHOSLC Backlash

Bronwyn Newport has been on the interview circuit recently. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie found herself responding to questions about the dynamics of her marriage with Todd Bradley.

The fashionista’s husband perhaps came off a bit brusque on camera when the cast conversation veered to the topic of Bronwyn and her daughter Gwen during a recent episode. The scene became tense as Todd shut down the dialogue, despite his wife’s clear desire to speak.

Fans can only guess whether this was simply an anomaly in Todd’s behavior, as he was clearly uncomfortable all weekend. But Bronwyn insisted that he was coming from a good place in that moment.

“You have to show up in different ways,” Bronwyn Newport said of her long-term relationship

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star appeared on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea podcast to respond to the backlash.

“Todd and I are super happy and stable and totally great, so I don’t know that I need to clarify [anything],” Brownyn stated.

“I guess I would say, I think in a really long-term, serious, stable relationship like we have … you show up [in] different ways [for] your partner,” the former financial professional continued.

During the couple’s anniversary dinner in Palm Springs, the topic of Lisa Barlow’s proximity to Gwen’s late father’s family came up. RHOSLC viewers will recall that Gwen was considering whether to connect with her late father’s family. As seen during the episode, Bronwyn’s co-star Angie Katsanevas asked about further developments, only for the conversation to be shut down by Todd.

“This is not going to happen. This is over. Done. Done, ” he said at the dinner. “You know it’s just going to piss me off, so let’s stay away from it.”

“I was worried the ladies were going to embarrass me. It’s Todd who embarrasses me in this moment — as much as I love him,” Bronwyn reacted in a confessional interview. “There is definitely a dynamic around anger and frustration that Todd and I handle differently. Todd has a very specific stopping point and there is no going past that.”

Bronwyn praised Todd as “lovingly protective”

For his part, Todd also spoke to producers. He explained that it was too sensitive a topic to discuss with the group.

“I’m not going to have this discussion at a dinner table to celebrate our anniversary. It’s a personal issue for Gwen and Bronwyn. Me, as a supporter of both of them, it’s no one’s business to discuss at a dinner table. Frankly, it wasn’t Lisa’s business to bring it up to begin with,” he said.

In retrospect, Bronwyn said that her husband did the right thing. She felt it was an action of a “lovingly protective” spouse.

“I kind of played this role of, like, skittery, scattery, trying to fix it,” the fashionista admitted.

Bronwyn added, “Todd was willing in that moment to [be like], ‘I don’t care if people like me or not. We are not doing this. I care about Bronwyn, I care about Gwen and this is going nowhere good for either of them.’”
