Bronwyn Newport’s Best RHOSLC Moments So Far

When Bronwyn Newport first stepped onto the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City scene wearing her giant YSL heart coat, I was perplexed. I wondered what kind of woman we would be getting in Season 5. It turns out Bronwyn is young, witty, opinionated, and loves fashion. In the short few episodes, the mother of one has already caught viewers’ eyes and delivered some memorable moments.

RHOSLC' Bronwyn Newport on Daughter's Birth Story, Lisa Barlow

Bronwyn Newport tried to draw a line in the sand

Lisa Barlow’s Besos dinner didn’t go as planned. The Valentine’s Day-themed get-together almost went up in flames as Lisa, Meredith Marks, and Angie Katsanevas duked it out. The Vida Tequila owner was livid that Angie had spilled the beans to Whitney Rose, but the Greek goddess thought she was just being a good friend. This was Bronwyn’s first introduction to the Utah women, and naturally, she was perplexed. Acting in the best interest of everyone, the fashionista tried her best to calm the duo. There were so many good moments throughout this fight, but Angie completely ignoring the heart lady was perhaps the icing on top.

“Okay, can you just draw a line and say, ‘We’re going to start from here.’ We’re not going to talk about that past stuff anymore. Can we just draw a line and keep going?” Sadly, Angie wasn’t capable of drawing a line in the sand and steamrolled right past Bronwyn’s good advice. As Angie noted, “I still own my house.” the newbie quipped, “Okay, but you’re still talking about it.”  Never have I seen a housewife look as exhausted with the conversation as Bronwyn did.

Bronwyn Newport’s critiques of her RHOSLC costars were everything

During her stint on Watch What Happens Live, Bronwyn was asked to play a game called Couture or Costume. The self-proclaimed Salt Lake City fashionista had to tell Andy Cohen which outfits she approved of and which should have been given the ax. First up was Heather Gay’s red latex dress, which was covered in hearts. To be honest, Heather looked great, and the newbie agreed, saying, “I actually liked it. Couture.” Andy tossed a Mary Cosby outfit into the mix, showing the pastor wearing an architectural confessional dress matched with an oversized necklace.” Without taking a pause, Bronwyn noted, “Oh, couture. Yay!”

But not everyone got a warm reception. Bronwyn gave an icy reception to Angie’s Gucci tracksuit. Bronwyn noted, “I love Ang, but costume. And I have the same one, so I’m sh*tting on myself too!” I do love it when a housewife can make fun of herself. Whitney Rose’s tiger PJ outfit was also shot down and called a costume.  Lisa walked away with a rave review of her dark mermaid look, and Mer was told she shouldn’t try the I Dream of Jeannie hairstyle again. Bronwyn was harsh but fair.

Bronwyn Newport’s impersonation of Whitney Rose didn’t impress everyone

While driving to grab Wendy’s and a dirty soda, Bronwyn unleashed about Whitney Rose to Lisa and Heather. While the KitKat lover inhaled the gossip, Heather sat back and just listened. Even though it felt like Bronwyn was just trying to appease Lisa, her impersonation of the Wild Rose owner was pretty dramatic. During the car ride, B shared that Whit handled herself fine, saying, “it didn’t feel like a gang up to me because the way it kept going up was Whitney.”

In a moment for the ages, Bronwyn then dramatically says, “The whole ‘do you want to see a healed Whitney.’ I was wondering if we practice this at home.” While it wasn’t exactly nice, Bronwyn was pretty funny in her retelling. She added, “Little tears were inking out. I was laughing so hard. It’s just so trite. I can’t.” Bronwyn’s energy was at a ten, and while it may have been a red flag for Heather, viewers wanted more.

Bronwyn Newport reads Britani Bateman for filth

It was inevitable that Bronwyn and Mary would bond. Both love fashion. But viewers had no idea that together, the ladies would drag Britani Bateman for over six minutes. It was like watching a perfectly played tennis match as the insults volleyed back and forth. First, the actress tried to give a compliment, saying, “Bronwyn, I love your costume.” B was highly offended, replying, “My costume! Oh, you can’t come to this couch with Mary and me and call this costume. That’s fighting words.”

Who knew a $15,000 heart jacket could cause such a kerfuffle? Bronwyn couldn’t help herself as she told Britani, “This is no Party City. You can love it, or you can hate it. But not costume.” While I think Britani got the memo, she was off to a rough start. Bronwyn kept going after she insulted Mary, noting, “We got to get Britani a thesaurus.” Now, this was just Bronwyn at the beginning of the season, so I can’t wait to see how the rest of the episodes portray her!
