Brooke Burke was supposed to marry Scott Rigsby … on the same day Page Six interviewed her.
“It’s so funny you should ask. Today marks the day that was our potential wedding date that actually no one knew,” Burke revealed to us during a May 28 interview after we asked if she and her fiancé had set a date.
“Today when I woke up, we were both, like, [crying].”
As for why wedding bells did not ring on that day, Burke — who has been engaged to Rigsby since September 2021 — shared, “We have been so busy. We built a home in Arizona. We blended our family. We moved in together [in Malibu]. We had the fires and then the fires again and the floods.”
While there “has been a lot of planning,” the Brooke Burke Body app founder, 53, acknowledged that there have also been “a lot of pauses.”
“Life just keeps coming at us,” she lamented, adding, “It’s just been a weird couple of years, hasn’t it?” (It’s worth noting Rigsby proposed in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.)
“It’s almost embarrassing now when people ask me,” she confessed, prompting us to point out that some couples “stay engaged for forever.”
But the TV host clarified that she and Rigsby, 57, are “not that couple.”
Burke emphasized that she and the commercial real estate developer “really need to buckle down” and tie the knot before the year’s end, admitting that “even the kids are asking” when their parents will walk down the aisle.
Burke shares daughters Neriah, 25, and Sierra, 23, with her first husband, plastic surgeon to the stars Garth Fisher. She also co-parents daughter Rain, 18, and son Shaya, 17, with her second husband, David Charvet.
Meanwhile, Rigsby is dad to Lila, 17, and Levi, 14.
Burke lit up — and reached for her phone — when we asked what it was like living as a real-life “Brady Bunch.”
“Hold on. As you say that, I’m texting my daughter. At least three of them — I have six children — will call me while we’re on this [Zoom]. It’s crazy,” she told us, explaining that they are all programed to “override” her “do not disturb” setting.
“Yesterday, I was trying to meditate, and three of my children called me. I’m like, ‘Can I just have five minutes?'” she quipped.
The actress and model went on to gush, “I love being a ‘Brady Bunch.’ I love having a blended family. I’m with a man that is open and loving, and we raise our family — each one of us — like we belong to each other.”
Burke “count[s] on [her] kids to meet everyone with love,” as she noted proudly that “they have welcomed the changes.”
She grinned ear to ear as she described her house as “messy chaos,” which is also “beautiful and challenging and crazy and amazing.”
