Bruce Cassidy's Days With the Golden Knights Possibly Numbered After Second Round Loss

Bruce Cassidy took the Vegas Golden Knights to their first Stanley Cup, and now, there have been some suggestions he could be moved on by the team this summer.

The Vegas Golden Knights won the Pacific Division this season, and after struggling through their first round series with the Minnesota Wild, they were dominated by the Edmonton Oilers in round two, even after so many changes in the last 18 months.

This is their second straight disappointment following their 2023 Stanley Cup, and knowing how ruthless this organization is, it could lead to many changes this upcoming off-season as they look to become legitimate contenders once again.

Golden Knights news: Bruce Cassidy reveals what sparked Golden Knights

Despite having a 146-73-27 record in three seasons with Vegas and leading them to that Stanley Cup win, there's now potential pressure on Bruce Cassidy to retain his job over the summer, with suggestions that his job could be on the line.

While this suggestion would come as a shock to many, plenty of Vegas Golden Knights fans became frustrated with his lack of adjustments in the series against Edmonton, and at the end of the day, it cost them as they were thoroughly dominated in their 4-1 series defeat.

At this point in time, General Manager Kelly McCrimmon hasn't publicly talked about Cassidy's future with the team, but knowing how easily this team has made changes and pulled the trigger on big moves in recent years, them moving on from him would not come as a shock to many.

Ultimately, this season can be seen as nothing but a disappointment for Vegas, and with their core ageing, the expectation is that we see some changes over the summer, and while Cassidy staying or going isn't a guarantee, keep a close eye on this story mpving forward.
