Bruins’ David Pastrnak on Pace to Become an All-Time Franchise Great

There have been very few positives to come out of the 2024-25 season for the Boston Bruins. However, superstar winger David Pastrnak is one of them.

Bruins’ David Pastrnak on Pace to Become an All-Time Franchise Great

Pastrnak Doing It Again in 2024-25

The Bruins know what to expect from Pastrnak. Sure, he comes with a high price tag, but he consistently drives the offense and produces at a high level. He, again, leads the Bruins in every statistical category by a wide margin. He leads the team in goals with 41 – Morgan Geekie is behind him with 30. Furthermore, he leads the team in points with 100 – again with Geekie behind him with 53. He’s been the definition of the Bruins’ offensive attack this season, having a goals for percentage of 56.16.

During the 2022-23 season, Pastrnak also led the team in points (113) by a wide margin (the next closest was 67), and he led the team in goals with 61 (the next closest was 27). In 2023-24, he finished with 47 goals and 110 points to lead the way, well ahead of the rest of the team. He continues to cement his legacy in Boston.

Pastrnak Etching His Name in Bruins History

Pastrnak could be a Hall of Fame player when his career is said and done. He will certainly go down as one of the greatest players ever to wear the Black and Gold. Given that the Bruins have played 100 years of hockey, there are plenty of greats that have come through this organization. Pastrnak can cement himself among those greats.

Pastrnak made Bruins history this week, becoming the third Bruin to reach the 100-point mark in three consecutive seasons after Boston’s game against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday (April 8), joining Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito. However, he would need four more 100-point seasons to become the all-time franchise leader, passing both Orr and Esposito.

Pastrnak is known for his goal-scoring and wicked shot. He ranks seventh all-time in goals, with 157 to go to become the all-time leader. He also needs eight more hat tricks to break Esposito’s record, which is currently at 26. Finally, he needs just 25 more game-winning goals to lead the franchise. What we are witnessing is one of the best pure goal scorers to play for this team, and there is so much more good hockey ahead of him. It is not just his goals, though; he is a player that prides himself on being a playmaker as well.

In the last three seasons, Pastrnak has had 50-plus assists, and he set a career high during the 2023-24 season with 63. He became the fourth player in NHL history to factor in on 13 straight goals. Breaking the franchise record for most assists may be tough, but those will continue to rise over the coming seasons.

Given all his achievements before the age of 30, Pastrnak is already one of the greatest players ever to suit up for the Bruins.

Pastrnak Becoming an All-Time Great

At 28 years old, there is a good chance that Pastrnak will break some franchise records in the near future. He is the present and future of the organization, and fans love cheering for him. Pastrnak is one of the best players in the entire league, and what he has done this season is nothing short of amazing given the circumstances. He has been the driving force behind the Bruins for years and will continue to do so when they try to bounce back from a disappointing campaign next season.
