Bruins Found Hidden Gem in Surging Forward

This Boston Bruins forward has been quite the surprise, and he has the potential to become even better.

Boston Bruins forward Justin Brazeau was an excellent story for the Original Six club this past season. After three strong seasons with the Providence Bruins on minor-league deals, Brazeau secured a two-year, two-way NHL contract with Boston in February. From there, he stuck with the NHL club for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign and showed good promise in the process.

Brazeau, 26, displayed scoring potential this past season, posting five goals and two assists in 19 games. While this sample size is small, Brazeau's skill and size make him a player to watch incredibly closely in 2024-25.

While it took Brazeau several years to make the jump to the NHL, he got his career started off on the right foot, and he could have plenty more opportunities with Boston next season because of it. When looking at the club's depth at right wing, there is a chance that he will have a middle-six role. In addition, he should get reps on their power play because of his effective net-front presence ability.

Justin Brazeau

You don't often see players in their mid-20s jump to the NHL, but Brazeau did so in an impressive way last campaign. Now, his goal will be to take another notable step in the right direction with his development and become a key forward in Boston's lineup.

The potential for Brazeau to break out in a big way for the Bruins next season is there, and it will be intriguing to see what kind of campaign he puts together.
