The Boston Bruins have brought in several new forwards this off-season in an attempt to improve their roster. Overall, they gave their bottom six a nice boost by bringing in players like Michael Eyssimont, Sean Kuraly, and Tanner Jeannot. Yet, when looking at their group, it is clear that they could still use another forward with skill.
With it now being almost August, there are many big-name unrestricted free agents (UFAs) left for the taking. However, there are still some interesting players available, and forward Robby Fabbri is one of them.
Fabbri had a tough 2024-25 season with the Anaheim Ducks, where he recorded eight goals and 16 points in 44 games. While it was a shaky year for the 2014 first-round pick, his past success could make him an intriguing player for the Bruins to take a shot on with a professional tryout (PTO).
Just back during the 2023-24 season with the Detroit Red Wings, Fabbri recorded 18 goals, 14 assists, and 32 points in 68 games. He has recorded at least 15 goals and 30 points four times in his career, so he has shown that he has the potential to provide decent depth offensive production when playing at his best.
Overall, with the Bruins needing more skill, inviting Fabbri to training camp on a PTO could be worth some consideration. While he has dealt with injury trouble over the years, there would be no harm in them inviting him to camp to create more competition.
