The Boston Bruins are going with some interesting lines for their contest against the Montreal Canadiens.
Earlier today, the Boston Bruins tried out some new lines at practice before their upcoming matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. Clearly, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery must have liked what he saw, as they will be going with that lineup against the Habs.
Montgomery confirmed that Riley Tufte will in fact make his Bruins debut with the club tonight. He will replace Max Jones on the third line, forming a trio with Trent Frederic and Justin Brazeau.
Tufte, 26, signed a one-year contract with the Bruins during this past off-season. In five games last season with the Colorado Avalanche, he had one goal and one assist. He also appeared in 67 games with the Colorado Eagles, posting 23 goals and 46 points.
In addition, Montgomery confirmed defenseman Parker Wotherspoon will make his season debut for the Bruins against the Canadiens. He is set to play on the third pairing with Andrew Peeke and will replace Mason Lohrei in the lineup.
Wotherspoon, 27, appeared in a career-high 41 games last season with the Bruins, recording eight assists, 31 penalty minutes, and 84 hits.
Here is the Bruins' full lineup for this matchup against the Canadiens.
