Bruins star’s strong season earns him NHL honor for second time

David Pastrnak’s strong individual season was rewarded by the NHL on Thursday when he was named to the Second All-Star Team.

It’s the second time in Pastrnak’s career that he’s earned the honor. He received First Team honors in 2019-20 and 2022-23.

The Bruins star appeared in all of Boston’s 82 games this past season and notched 106 points on 43 goals and 63 assists. It marked the fourth time Pastrnak hit the 40-goal mark, and the third straight year of at least 100 points.

The 2024-25 season started slow for Pastrnak. He went over a month without scoring goal before finally breaking through on Jan. 5. From there, he did a 180 from that point forward to finish a tough year for the Bruins on a high note.

Pastrnak also stepped up as a leader after the Bruins traded captain Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers at the deadline. The 29-year-old could be a candidate to be Boston’s next captain if the team decides to name one next year.
